MFF Needs a Treasurer of the Board!

At Maryland Fossil Finders, weโ€™re looking for a Treasurer to join our board of directors. But what exactly does a Treasurer do, and why is this role so important?

In simple terms, a Treasurer is responsible for overseeing the financial health of the organization. This includes monitoring income and expenses, ensuring that funds are being used properly, and helping with financial planning. They also play a key role in reporting to the board and other stakeholders about the organization’s financial standing.

For Maryland Fossil Finders, our Treasurer will help us maintain transparency as we grow, ensuring that we have the resources needed to support our mission of making fossil hunting accessible and inclusive for all. It’s a vital role that helps guide the organization’s financial decisions and keeps us on track to achieve our long-term goals.

We expect the role to require up to 10 hours a month but is flexible. Board members must attend four board meetings a year as well. These meetings will take approximately 1-2 hours.

If youโ€™re someone who enjoys numbers and wants to support an exciting cause, consider joining our team as Treasurer! More details on the role are available here.
