Meet Felicia

A Bit About Me

Hi! I’m Felicia Ludwig, the founder of Maryland Fossil Finders. Ever since I was young, I’ve loved being outdoors and going on adventures. Fossil hunting became one of my favorite ways to explore, and now I want to share that excitement with others through Maryland Fossil Finders (MFF). Our goal is to make fossil hunting fun and available to everyone!

One of the experiences that really shaped how I see things was going on a fossil hunt with a blind friend and coworker. When she found her first tooth, it was a powerful reminder of how capable and empowered people are when they have the right tools and opportunities. This helped me understand how important it is to make sure everyone, no matter their background or ability, can fully enjoy the fossil hunting experience. At MFF, we work hard to make sure our hunts are welcoming and accessible to everyone.

I’ve worked in nonprofit fundraising and organizing events, which has helped me build MFF. But what really drives me is my love for fossil hunting and my passion for making it a great experience for others.

When I’m not leading fossil hunts or working on MFF, I’m at home with my husband, Steve, who’s been super supportive, even though he’s not into fossil hunting. We live with our three cats and one dog, and they’re a big part of my life, too.
